Pierre's Wordspew I added the ability to select exactly who can post messages in the shoutbox. Simply select from the drop down list that will send the right messages.

Other users can only "attend" discussion .

Attention during the update of the shoutbox, as I take an old setting (registered_only) for the new feature, only the "Subscribers" (Level 0 users) can post in the shoutbox. So, consider changing this in the administration interface of the shoutbox choosing who can participate in Cats

Shoutbox What's New?

• Added Portuguese and Polish. Thank you to elias for Portuguese and Kamil for Polish .
• You can now delete the archive content to a selected theme in the administration interface,
• You can use the shoutbox only on certain pages or only in "sections" special.
  For this, you can use the values: @ homepage, frontpage @, @ pages, @ single, @ @ archives and category.
  • @ Homepage means to use the shoutbox on the home page of articles without the use of theme,
  • @ Frontpage means to use the shoutbox on the home page "static" the blog (when it chooses to display a page in Options -> Playback) without using a theme
  • @ Page means to use the shoutbox on every page without using a theme
  • @ Page (linked) means to use the shoutbox on the pages linking BUT the shoutbox on every page (a shoutbox specific page),
  • @ Page (rubric) means to use the shoutbox on the pages using a shoutbox BUT specifically for ALL pages
  • ditto for the other "sections" ...

You can use these two keywords (and linked rubric) with @ pages, @ single, @ archive (only rubric here) and @ category.

Finally, if you want to use the shoutbox in a page template that you made yourself, enter: @ page [The name of your page].

Pierre's Wordspew 's it I took the plunge ... The shoutbox is now available in the extensions directory of WordPress .
For once, and to differentiate it, I upgraded its version number to 4.32.

Wordspew At the request of Tina , I added some code to automatically empty the field "Name" on input focus. This simplifies entering a new name .

Wordspew To simplify your work, I just changed a little shoutbox to put all the language files in the subdirectory / lang file wordspew.

I also added all the translation files directly into the archive. That way, you will need to download files from your language separately .
